CFA Exam is conducted by CFA Institute, USA since’1963 as a non-profit organization. The program is recognized as a Gold standard program by Wall Street. Which has set standards in investment and finance over the decades in more than 130 countries.
Program Format
The curriculum is set by Candidate Body of Knowledge set by CFA Institute.
There are 3 Levels in CFA Program. One has to pass CFA Level 1 to appear for level 2 and then three
Registration and Exam Dates
• CFA Level 1 exams are held twice : JUNE and DEC
• CFA Level 2 and Level 3 Exams are held in only in JUNE.
Normally timely registration can be done in Feb for June attempt and for Dec you can register before mid of Aug.
Eligibility
A final year student or a graduate is eligible for CFA Level 1 exam.
Exam Format
CFA Level 1
• Total questions: 240 – MCQ
• Duration: 6 hours ( 3 hrs Morning – 3hrs afternoon)• Pen paper exam, CFA Institute approved Calculator is allowed
• Passing rate around 36% for CFA Level 1
CFA Level 2
• Total questions: 120 – MCQ (Bases on 20 mini case studies/item sets)
• Duration: 6 hours ( 3 hrs Morning – 3hrs afternoon)
• Pen paper exam, CFA Institute approved Calculator is allowed
• Passing rate around 34% for CFA Level 2
CFA Level 3
• Total questions: 60 ( 30 MCQ and 30 Subjective)
• Duration: 6 hours ( 3 hrs Morning – 3hrs afternoon)
